Blending everything from cheerleader chants, to gnarly guitar work, infectious lyrics and a whole load of attitude, this is one club you want to be a member of. Sisters Edie (vocals, guitar) and Gita (vocals, guitar, synths) Langley began their musical adventure by moving to London and after recruiting drummer Gabi Woo, they formed Cruel Hearts Club, a no-nonsense, sisterhood of captivating punk-pop goodness that pulls zero punches and goes in at full pelt every single time.
After announcing themselves with ‘Hey Compadre’ they’ve since skyrocketed onto the scene and proved to be ‘ones to watch’ time and time again. An explosive outlet of fearless expressionism that speaks directly to every single person that hears it, Cruel Hearts Club’s real-talk grunge-pop has won over the hearts and pricked up the ears of some of the biggest names in the business since starting out just a few years ago, and now they plan to take things to the next level.
With huge musical backgrounds, it’s no secret that Edie, Gita and Gabi know how to flex their studio muscles, in fact they’re often receiving huge support from the likes of This Feeling, NME, BBC Radio 1 and Radio X. They’ve also worked with producer Ed Harcourt and MPG breakthrough Producer of the Year Catherine Marks (Wolf Alice, The Amazons). Taking their sounds to the stage, Cruel Hearts Club have supported Sting, Iggy Pop and The Libertines. Playing at Isle of Wight Festival, Hit The Northand Camden Rocks is now something of the norm for the band, who have crammed festival tents, sold out venues and warmed up for some of the biggest artists in the world.
In these times of uncertainty, you count on one thing being a definite – Cruel Hearts Club are recruiting new members and they want every single one of you to join them.
