Dr Eddie Dobson has delivered music production education for over 25 years in a wide range of formal academic and community settings, delivering teaching for Huddersfield University, Leeds Conservatoire, ICMP, Yorkshire Sound Women Network C.I.C., Hoot, and others. Their research background is in collaboration, creativity and learning in music technology, leading to a PhD in this area, and the accreditation of National Teaching Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
As a media sound professional Eddie delivers audio post for media; delivering Foley, sound effects, dialogue editing and mixing. Their credits span short films and animation through to Ch4 documentary and immersive Audible drama. Most recently Eddie worked as a dialogue editor on the Audible Harry Potter full cast edition, and other recent work includes award winning short Scatter, Where There’s Light (dir. Charlotte Couture), and Foley for a beautiful short film called Calm produced by (coincidentally named) Fine Line Productions.Eddie is a co-founder the Yorkshire Sound Women Network C.I.C and remains deeply passionate about equitable education, access and the development of emerging music producers (of all ages and backgrounds), with a particular interest in supporting women and gender expansive people.
