Abbie Finn is a drummer from the North-East of England who has over 15 years playing experience. She is currently based in County Durham.

Her current main projects are the Abbie Finn Trio with Harry Keeble on Tenor Saxophone and Paul Grainger on Double Bass and the Finntet featuring Graham Hardy, Harry Keeble, Dean Stockdale and Paul Grainger. Regular updates and a list of upcoming gigs can be found on Abbiefinn.com.

Her trio have recently released their debut album Northern Perspective which has been described as ‘A significant milestone in what is sure to be a long, fruitful career.’ By Russell Corbett – Bebop Spoken Here and ‘Abbie provides the percussion for some genuinely excellent music. In 2018 Abbie was cast on the Jamie Lloyd Co production of the Harold Pinter play Night School at the Pinter Theatre, London in Nov and Dec. She was cast as Mavis, had spoken lines and performed drums live on stage.

In 2017 Abbie received a 1st class degree with honours in Music (Jazz) at Leeds College of Music and studied under Sebastiaan De Krom. In 2018 she studied a Master’s Degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London with the Archer Scholarship, under a variety of tutors including Asaf Sirkis and Gene Calderazzo.

In 2014 she won the adjudicators award and Best Section Award at The Great North Big Band Festival. She also received a place on the Keep an eye jazz summer school at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2015 where she worked with artists such as John Riley and Dick Oatts (From the Manhattan School of Music). In 2018 she was given the opportunity to play Percussion with the WOW (Women of the World) Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall in London as part of a festival of women.

Abbie was a dep for the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and also had the pleasure of performing with the NYJO Academy big band, The Trinity Composer’s Big Band, Kinesis: A Drum and Sax duo with Harry Keeble, A Quintet with Postgraduate students at Trinity, The Jazztones, Paul Edis Trio, Durham Alumni Big Band, Strictly Smokin’ Big band, Simon Spillett, Andrea Vicari, Derek Nash, Dean Stockdale, Sue Ferris, Graham Hardy, Paul Grainger, Andy Champion, Zoe Gilby, Mark Williams, Harry Keeble, Michael Lamb, Alice Grace, Bradley Johnson, NYJO Ambassadors, Musicians Unlimited big band, Customs House big band, Ray Beckett and more.
