Bryony Griffith

Bryony Griffith is one of England’s most highly regarded fiddle players and distinctive folk singers with a broad repertoire of traditional English dance tunes and songs and a particular passion for those from her native Yorkshire.

Her skills encompass solo performance, duo work with melodeon player Will Hampson and extensive experience of playing for folk dance, including her role in the BBC Folk Award-winning Demon Barbers. She was also a member of the much-missed a cappella quartet The Witches of Elswick.

Her 2018 album of traditional fiddle tunes, ‘Hover’, received 5 star reviews and award nominations including ‘fROOTS Editor’s album of the year’ and Fatea Magazine ‘Instrumentalist of the Year’.

2020 sees Bryony joining forces with Yorkshire Folk singer, musician and dancer Alice Jones to form a powerful duo, drawing on the rich collection of traditional Yorkshire songs and tunes.
