Emer Landers

Emer has composed for a wide range of genres including film, television, video games and musical theatre. She combines a high standard of technical ability in the studio with her love of orchestral music to create new and interesting scores for a diverse range of projects, and strives to give each one its own unique voice.

Emer studied Music with a specialism in Music Technology at Trinity College Dublin in 2011. She was awarded the Geoffrey Singleton prize twice upon graduation for her original film score in addition to her dissertation on film music.

During this time she composed an original song for children’s television animation “Rock-a-bye Island”, which aired on RTÉ. She was awarded First Prize in the Audio category in The Digital Hub’s National “Best in Show” Competition in the same year, winning an internship with Riviera Media Group where she gained experience in producing music for radio advertisements.

She worked as the In-house Composer for Bigpoint Inc., San Francisco in 2012. Here she had the opportunity to score two of the studio’s main titles, “Universal Monsters Online” and “Uridium Wars”, and contributed music to “Dark Orbit” and “Battlestar Galactica Online”. She also created music for a new MMORPG, “Forge”, which was released on Steam Greenlight in 2012.

She obtained a Masters in Composition for Screen from the prestigious Royal College of Music in 2014 while continuing to compose for a number of short films, and had her work performed in the National Portrait Gallery in London. Her experience was recognised in 2016 when she became a member of the BAFTA Crew for Film and Television and BAFTA Crew for Video Games schemes for emerging talent.

Recent projects have included a score for the short film “A Dublin Christmas Carol”, and a hybrid orchestral score for a short “Bach is Blue”, created with participants of the BAFTA Crew scheme in 2021. She is developing a new work for musical theatre and a production music album, both of which received funding from the Arts Council of Ireland in 2021.

A recent highlight of her career was winning Third Prize at the International Pannonia Film Music Competition in 2020. This resulted in the recording of a new piece, “Tales of Love and Triumph”, which is now available on all streaming platforms.

Emer aims to continue to expand on her professional career internationally and is passionate about collaborating on high quality projects across all genres.
