Rosie Alexandra

I’m Rosie, a Brightonian at heart who loves all things Soul, RnB and Gospel. I have always said that I want to use my voice to bring about change and that’s what I’ve set out to do, pouring my heart into every soulful melody and angelic harmony. When I started my songwriting journey and had a clearer vision of myself as an artist, I asked myself the question ‘what do I have to offer?’ What could I potentially write about and bring to the industry that is unique and worth noticing? My answer was ‘Me. And my life experiences’. What I have that is unique is all I have been through in my life so far, who it has made me today, and how it has made me see the world. I made the decision from that moment that my songs would always come from a place of honesty, realness and authenticity. For many years I have loved the work of Yebba, who too has seen just how tough life can be. She is distinctive in her beautiful rich sound as well as her personal and vulnerable nature as an artist. Her songs have sat with me, uplifted, encouraged and soothed me, and this is what I too want to be remembered for.

February 14th 2021 marked the release of ‘Nowhere’, a feature track with DJ/Producer Joe Boothroyd. This song came together through collaboration across all 3 COVID-19 lockdowns, and its feel-good house vibes have been enjoyed by many since. In the last month Nowhere has been aired on BBC Introducing, Radio Bath and BBC Bristol spreading positivity in anticipation of being back on the dance floor, beverage of choice in hand, feeling the bass pumping through once again.
