97 Ensemble

Contacts & Links

97 Ensemble are a new and lively ensemble made of musicians from the Royal College of Music, founded by cellist Niki Moosavi.

The ensemble aims to raise awareness of the statistic that 97% of women aged 18-24 experience sexual harassment in UK as found by the APPG UN Women UK report of March 2021. They fundraise for Solace Women’s Aid through their concerts and give performances at Solace Women’s Aid for their service users. The ensemble champions works by underrepresented composers and hope to make classical music more inclusive.

97 Ensemble has their debut concert on 30th April at St James’s Church Sussex Gardens and will also be performing at the Elgar Room on the 3rd of July 2022. Tickets are available at 97ensemble.com, Eventbrite or royalalberthall.com . Music performed in their first two concerts includes works by Errollyn Wallen, Ethel Smyth, Fanny Mendelssohn and Valerie Coleman.
