Anna Hetherington

Anna Hetherington is a contemporary composer & musician based in the UK.

Recent credits include airplay on BBC Radio 4, international radio, BBC 2’s Animal Einsteins, Channel 4’s Secret Life of the Zoo,  VICE, Channel 5’s Banged Up Abroad and Caught on Camera.

Her writing is distinctive, and ranges in style from cutting-edge electronica, ambient, rock and jazz to contemporary classical and orchestral.

Prior to composing for media Anna honed her skills performing and releasing music in rock/electronica bands and as a solo artist.

She began songwriting from a young age, performing her songs live on guitar/piano & voice and recording to an old 4-track tape recorder. In her teens she picked up sax and played in rock, funk and jazz bands. She later voyaged into electronic and experimental music and began computer-based composition.

Whilst studying music production at Leeds College of Music she was a lead singer & saxophonist in Red Go Green Stop, a dance-indie band who performed regularly across the UK. After this Anna continued performing and collaborating within the local scene in bands and as a solo artist.

She continues to perform live and create eclectic vocal-led music and is recording an album for release in the near future.
