Caroline Scott

Caroline is a London-based professional drummer, composer and bass guitarist. Since graduating from Trinity Laban’s jazz drums course in 2018 she has been in demand as a side person, playing in Grammy-winner Lady Rizo’s band, Roddy Bottum’s rock opera (keyboard player and composer in Faith No More), and with Tomorrow’s Warriors Female Frontline (who supported Monty Alexander at Cadogan Hall during the London Jazz Festival). Caroline has played with various orchestras at London’s Royal Festival Hall, including the WOW Orchestra featuring singer Alice Russell and playing drums on Bernstein’s MASS conducted by Bernstein protege, Marin Alsop. She played drums in the Bill Kenwright production, Cruel Intentions: The 90s Musical, which won the Edinburgh Festival’s Best Musical award (2019). Caroline has worked professionally in a wide range of genres from jazz and pop to classical music – she also plays orchestral percussion and is a strong sight reader.

In 2017, Caroline won the Yamaha Soho Jazz Sessions competition and toured Armenia with jazz trio Cygnus Flare. They played the International Jazz Piano Trio Festival to a sold out audience at Ronnie Scott’s, supporting Tord Gustavsen. As a bandleader, she composed and released her debut album, Khoalesce, in 2018, featuring some of the UK’s finest jazz musicians. After launching the album at Ronnie Scott’s and Pizza Express Soho, it was well received by the jazz press and was played on Jazz FM, BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio Ulster amongst others. The album was funded by a successful crowdfunding campaign.
