Dr Laura Hamer

Dr Laura Hamer is a Senior Lecturer in Music at The Open University. She is a Feminist Musicologist whose research and teaching focuses upon Women in Music Studies. Her books include Female Composers, Conductors, Performers: Musiciennes of Interwar France, 1919-1939 (Routledge, 2018; paperback, 2020) and The Cambridge Companion to Women in Music since 1900 (ed. Cambridge University Press, 2021). Her current research project focuses upon women’s musical leadership. She is co-editing, with Dr Helen Julia Minors, The Routledge Companion to Women’s Musical Leadership: The Nineteenth Century and Beyond and PI of the AHRC-funded Women’s Musical Leadership Online Network.
