Elin Grace is an independent singer-songwriter from rural mid Wales whose debut EP, ‘Bee Without Wings’, blends quirky piano ballads and jazz influenced indie-pop fusion with deft vocal harmonies; weaving classical training through sweet melody and sophisticated arrangements, betraying contemporary and classic pop, rock, soul, jazz and indie.
Mentored by the prestigious ‘Forté Project’, and championed by BBC Radio Wales’ Adam Walton among others, Elin’s debut single – the kooky, psychedelic ‘Teacup Lady’ – saw her tipped on BBC Radio 6 as “one to watch”. Introducing ‘Breathe’ – the lead single from ‘Bee Without Wings’, Adam said: ‘She’s prodigiously gifted. I love her musical vision… her sense of fun.”
Elin has been gigging extensively: supporting Half Happy; The Trials of Cato, Matthew Frederick (of Climbing Trees) and Mari Mathias among others; playing the live scenes in Cardiff (Porters; Clwb Ifor Bach; Tiny Rebel), Manchester (33 Oldham St), London (93 Feet East; Sindercombe Social) and most recently debuting close to home – at Green Man Festival. Now Manchester-based, Elin is gigging both solo and/or backed by her new band.
‘Bee Without Wings’ – charting Elin’s own youth and young adulthood – was produced by Oscar Featherstone and mixed by Grammy winner Tchad Blake, whose magic touch is apparent throughout.
