Elizabeth Hardman

Elizabeth is an operatic lyric soprano and early-career researcher, specialising in gender and performance. She is currently working on a project, in collaboration with the Donne Foundation and supported by the Open-Oxford-Cambridge Doctoral Training Partnership, on ‘Confronting canonicity and promoting diversity: Gender and contemporary concert programming’. This doctoral thesis is under the supervision of Drs Laura Hamer and Manuella Blackburn.

As a performer, Elizabeth is a soprano, having completed Master’s-level study with two commendations for vocal performance. Previous roles include Flora (Dove’s The Enchanted Pig), Semele (Handel’s Semele), Rosalinde (Strauss’ Die Fledermaus), Mrs Grose (Britten’s Turn of the Screw), Saffi (Strauss’ Der Zigeunerbaron), Kay (King’s The Snow Queen), Melia (Mozart’s Apollo et Hyacinthus), Cunegonde/Paquette (Bernstein’s Candide), and Dido (Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas).
