I work in many genres and currently record under my own name (composer and musician) and as The Nearlys (songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist).

As a Songwriter: since the 1980’s, I’ve had extensive airplay worldwide.

I founded the record company Everyday Records in 1991.

RECENT COMPOSER HIGHLIGHTS

I was awarded a winning place in the New York City Contemporary Music Symposium’s inaugural call for scores 2021. ‘Without Words’ was performed by pianist Baron Fenwick in a livestreamed concert from Columbia University, Manhattan, NYC on April 8th 2021 View on YouTube

I composed additional music, arranged and played piano on ‘Des Jours Meilleurs’ originally composed for accordion by Jacques Pellarin. Nicola Farnon played Cello Listen on YouTube

I composed ‘Trio for Clarinet, Cello & Piano’ and played piano on the recording (made remotely, during lockdown) with Stasys Makštutis – Clarinet, Avigail Arad – Cello. The work was released as an EP in 2020 and has received national radio airplay worldwide Listen on YouTube

Commissioned to compose ‘Suite for Alto Flute & Piano’ and ‘Two Pieces for Piccolo and Piano’ – to be premiered, exclusively performed and recorded by the Animo Flute and Piano Duo (2020-2022).

‘Divertissement No.3 for Guitar’ was playlisted on BBC Radio 3 as part of the ‘Hear Her Season’ June 2018. It was also published in the Spring 2017 Edition of Classical Guitar Magazine with an accompanying feature article.

Winner of the Alwinton Summer Concerts 2016 National Composers’ Competition;
‘Gather Here’ was premiered by Kathryn Tickell & The Side and subsequently added to their setlist.
