Karen Turley

Karen Turley is an acclaimed Singer-Songwriter hailing from Ireland and currently based in Liverpool. With a lifelong passion for Folk and Country music, Karen’s journey in the world of music began at the age of 14 when she first picked up the guitar. Since then, she has dedicated herself to crafting heartfelt songs and captivating audiences with her soulful voice.

Over the years, Karen has garnered extensive experience performing both as a solo artist and as part of various bands, captivating audiences across Ireland and the UK. Her authentic approach to Folk and Country music has earned her a loyal and growing fanbase.

In 2016, Karen’s talent and dedication were recognised when she was chosen to participate in a prestigious songwriting exchange between Liverpool and Nashville. This opportunity led her to perform in the round at the renowned Bluebird Cafe, where she shared her music alongside esteemed Nashville songwriters, including the renowned Don Henry. Collaborating with such esteemed musicians further honed Karen’s songwriting skills and provided her with invaluable experiences.

Inspired by her journey and musical exploration, Karen Turley embarked on a new chapter in 2019 when she formed the Americana trio Motel Sundown alongside Naomi Campbell and Robert Johnson. Combining their individual talents and shared love for roots-inspired music, the trio quickly gained attention for their dynamic performances and rich harmonies.

In 2022, Motel Sundown released their highly anticipated debut album titled ‘If You Were Listening,’ showcasing their collective songwriting prowess and their ability to capture the essence of Americana music.

Building on the success of their debut, Motel Sundown had the honour of performing at the prestigious Black Deer Festival in June 2023, sharing the stage with renowned artists from around the world. Their captivating live show and heartfelt performances left a lasting impression on festival-goers and further solidified their reputation as a must-see act.

Currently, Karen Turley and Motel Sundown are hard at work, touring and crafting new material that is set to be released in Autumn 2023. Fans eagerly await the next chapter in their musical journey.
