Katie is a versatile pianist, currently working as a répétiteur and vocal coach. She obtained her Masters of Music with distinction from Royal Academy of Music, where she studied with Michael Dussek and Andrew West. Previously, she read music at Queens’ College, University of Cambridge, where she received the Beament Prize. Katie has just completed the Artist Diploma répétiteur course, with distinction, at Guildhall School of Music and Drama (GSMD). Her studies were fully supported generously by Help Musicians Sybil Tutton Award and the Guildhall School Award. She is currently the répétiteur / vocal coach Junior Fellow at GSMD.
Katie will be joining Buxton International Festival as répétiteur on Viva la Diva this Summer. She is currently working on Summer Opera: Kurt Weill & Monteverdi with conductor Chris Hopkins and director Victoria Newlyn at GSMD. Recent highlights includes Double Bill of Menotti’s Telephone and Judith Weir’s Miss Fortune with Dominic Wheeler and Martin Lloyd-Evans, and Rossini’s L’occasione fa il Ladro, British Youth Opera at Opera Holland Park with conductor Peter Robinson and director Victoria Newlyn in Summer 2021.
During her time at Guildhall, she has served as répétiteur in numerous Guildhall productions: La Fedeltà Premiata, Triple Bill, Beginnings, Double Bill: Telephone and Miss Fortune, and Opera Maker Scenes. Conductors and music directors she has worked with include: Alice Farnham, Stevie Higgins, Chad Kelly, Tim Redmond, Liz Rowe and Dominic Wheeler.
She has also attended the Solti-Peretti Repetiteur’s Course in Venice, April 2019. She has also worked with conductor Eamonn Dougan and director Nina Brazier at the Ryedale Festival for the production of Mozart’s Garden in Disguises in summer 2017 and Così fan tutte in Summer 2018.
