Described as the sonic marriage of FKA Twigs, Billie Eilish, Lorde and Grimes, She’s Mine is a display of gothic-grandeur and porcelain-tenderness in Alt-Pop form.

American-born, Scottish-raised and Manchester based artist She’s Mine explores dark lyrical themes of love, loss and her experience of feeling outcast, but with sparks of light. Three singles deep in her journey as an artist and with more releases in her back pocket, She’s Mine promises to be a new and exciting local talent. Her second single ‘Freak’ won her the Mayor of Manchester’s Artist of the Month in December of 2023 and a play on BBC Radio 6Music. The future sees She’s Mine blazing forward with the new music that she has planned, each song being “an opportunity for growth and finding my people” she says.

After moving from California to Scotland at age six, She’s Mine decided to learn to play the violin. At age ten she found that her years of classical violin training had instilled a sense of pitch in her that made singing feel natural. Finding herself gravitating towards singing pop and jazz, she began using her violin to help her come up with melodies to write her own music.

In 2017 she auditioned for the City of Edinburgh Music School but was turned away because she was not yet at the standard of technical ability that the school required. She spent the next year dedicating herself to her instruments until she was finally accepted on her third audition attempt. There, she received two years of advanced classical training in violin and jazz vocals. It was during this time that she began transferring her skills to the guitar and piano through Songwriting. To gain further experience she took part in National Youth Orchestra of Scotland, National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland and Edinburgh Youth Orchestra Summer Schools.

Having earned the respect of her tutors for her tenacity, she was featured at the City of Edinburgh Music Schools Homecoming 2 Concert where she sang Imogen Heap’s Hide & Seek with two alumni of the school on SPD, Keyboard and Vocoder.

In 2019, she was unconditionally accepted to the Royal Northern College of Music and moved to Manchester to complete her studies. To mark her progress as a Songwriter she self-released a collection of songs that she had written as an album onto Bandcamp while she was locked down in student accommodation. She did this under the alias ‘She’s Mine’ as a statement about the objectification of women.

Produced, mixed and mastered by her friend and class-mate Noah Curran, she released her first single ‘It’s all to be Reversed’ detailing her struggles with mental health which caught the attention of BBC Introducing in Scotland and Cumbernauld Radio.

She’s Mine is now entering into her final year at the RNCM, where she continues to develop herself as an Artist, her skills as a Vocalist and as a Songwriter. During her Vocal practice, she works to integrate her Vocal Effects Processor, a Loop Pedal and her Sample Pad into her arsenal of performance tools.

She expands her career and network by singing at functions/events and taking part in her University Gospel Choir led by Wayne Ellington. She has worked as part of a Choir for Polydor artist Cian Ducrot which has appeared on his debut album ‘Victory’ and has recorded demo vocals for Rick Boardman and The Six who write for artists such as Mimi Webb.

Next for She’s Mine is the ‘waterfall release’ release of a 90’s Soul and R&B inspired Album co-written with her rapper Planet w.e.s.m.o, mixed by Hip Hop producer Phil Kirby.
