Genre blending singer-songwriter KX gears up to release her superb brand new single, ‘Overthinking’ on September 15th, taken from her upcoming EP ‘Skin’.
Building on the success of her debut EP ‘1:A.M.’ which received a BBC 1Xtra co-sign from DJ Ace, the London based songstress returns emphatically with ‘Overthinking’. Fusing R&B and Pop melodies
driven by a smooth Afroswing/Dancehall influenced drumline courtesy of Riz, KX proves her ability to create unique sonic soundscapes for feel good party anthems.
It’s not just her pen or vocal chops, either. KX is a natural live performer. Often hitting the stage with steadfast confidence and killer on-stage looks, she’s torn up UK Garage sets at Wembley Arena, rocked the crowd at Now That’s a Festival and performed alongside legendary acts like Blackstreet and Dru Hill during the one-and-only R&B Sundays gig.
Since her debut, KX has brushed paths with Mutya Buena (of the Sugababes), Angel, Ayo Beatz, Davinche, Wretch 32, Josh Kumra, The FaNaTiX, and most recently Peter Andre, to name a few.
After blessing UK rap earworms [Shaxmadeit and Ten Dixon’s “Carried Away”] and electronic pulse-raisers [The Beatnik’s “Daisy”] throughout 2022 and early 2023, KX is now dead-set on her sophomore body of work. Once again using genre as her paintbrush, expect the forthcoming project to flirt with party-starting Afrobeat chords, silky, upbeat affirmations and spacey R&B arrangements.
