Mia Plummer

Mia Plummer is a freelance trumpeter based in the UK, completing her master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music in summer 2023 with a scholarship under the tutelage of world class musicians. She has a vast range of skills and is versatile in many genres, playing in ensembles from symphony orchestras to pop tribute bands.

She has grown a budding freelance career performing with ensembles like Hallé Orchestra’s Brass Quintet, Kensington Philharmonic Orchestra, Prince Consort Orchestra and sitting in West End shows like Mary Poppins and The King and I. Born and raised in Manchester, Mia showed interested in performing arts from a young age, and has been involved in the music scene since she was six years old starting at her local music service in Bury.

Through her degree, Mia found a passion for instrumental teaching and outreach programmes, and tailored a large part of her education towards it. She achieved a distinction in her teaching diploma, and now has numerous private pupils she has been teaching for upwards of six years. Mia has a passion for outreach work, working with organisations such as Tri-borough Music Hub, Wigmore Hall’s Music for Life, and Mini Mozart.
