Nominated as ‘One to Watch’ in the 2018 Northern Power Women Awards, Mimi is an Anglo-Sicilian cellist and composer, with a wealth of experience performing internationally in various settings and disciplines.
Currently completing her masters in cello performance and composition at Leeds Conservatoire, Mimi currently studies under Kazakh cellist Alfia Nakipbekova, and has taken masterclasses with Karine Georgian, Penelope Lynex, Oliver Coates, Tunde Jegede and most recently with Ayanna Witter-Johnson.
As a composer Mimi had her works premiered by members of the LSO and ENO. Mimi also champions new music and has premiered works by composer Liam Brigg, as well as performed Omar Peracha’s ‘Ground Zero’ at the International Festival for Artistic Innovation.
Alongside her musical ventures, Mimi is working on an EU-funded project looking at digitisation in higher music education as well as being the Chair of the Student Network for the Association of European Conservatoires, and a Director for The F-List.
