Omahrose

I am an artist, singer, songwriter, session vocalist and vocal coach based in London. My artist project is called “Omahrose”. I own a vocal coaching company – “RP Vocal Coaching” and teach at “ICMP” on the Performance and Creative Composition course. I have done songwriting, session vocals for Fairwood Music, Gargantuan Music, West One Music and more.

I am a co-creator, producer, songwriter and performer on the musical – “Suffrageddon” – about the suffragette movement featuring an entire “women of colour” cast. I cast all the singers / rappers / actors for the show. It toured around the UK and festival circuit with shows at: The London Palladium, YouTubeSpace for Internationals Women’s Week, The Roundhouse, The Barbican, Latitude and Leeds Festival etc. I featured on ITV and SKY news, Radio 5Live, Radio 1 Newsbeat, with articles in The Guardian, Sunday Times, The FT and many more.

I also wrote the theme tune for the highly popular BBC Radio4 Show – “Grownup Land” – https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p08mtp63

With my artist project – OMAHROSE, I have released 2 EP’s, 10 singles and 5 videos all self-managed and promoted. I have had press features for everything I have ever released, (please scroll down for some links to press) including radio play on BBC Music Introducing, Reprezent Radio etc.

In 2020, through the pandemic, I managed to create/release 4 songs and co-directed / co-shot videos for ALL 4 songs. I have performed on live streams, including one at Kings Place in London for The Guilty Feminist. Prior to the pandemic, I gigged all around London and featured on Yamaha studios as their artist pick. I am currently planning a UK tour to play out my new material. I would like to tour Europe too, so that is in my near future plans. I manage all my projects independently and self-fund everything. I have learned so many skills doing this and am involved and at the forefront of all my music creation, videos, shoots, distribution, royalties and everything that comes with releasing music. I am proud of how much I have learned over the years from doing so much myself. I also co-produce and am learning new compositional tools to ever evolve artistically.

My proudest moments are when I bring people together to create art. I have a strength in combining people’s talents and working with a team to create my strong vision. I am also very passionate about encouraging the self-sufficiency and independent creativity of women in the music industry, especially women of colour like myself. A lot of my work has involved an element of that and I want to pursue this more and more in studio, video and live.

I released a new song in December 2021 and have a new song releasing in August 2022. I am working / composing an album now for release next year. I am also midway through planning a tour.
