Sarah Heneghan

In addition to teaching, Sarah is an active performer and co-writer in several projects. In particular, Sarah plays drums and drum machine in Beyond Albedo, an improvisatory EDM quartet from outer space, which is on Jazz North’s 2019-20 roster; guitar and drums in Le Shig, an alternative function band that has performed in several countries in Europe, and more recently, Shambala 2019; and drums for Rhiannon Scutt, a well-established Ani DiFrancoesque singer-songwriter from Sheffield, who has performed at venues such as Southbank Centre and headlined L-Fest, the UK’s only lesbian festival, multiple times.

Sarah is also pursuing a solo project, ‘POWER OUT’, with drums and drum machine, and with this, was selected to be on the 2019 Manchester Jazz Festival hothouse scheme to develop it.
